Despite rising long-term rates and waning consumer confidence, ASX micro-cap companies are enjoying a resurgence with the index up over 15% this year.
Certainly, retailers have been hit hard in this market (JB Hifi, Kogan, Baby Bunting, Tourism and Leisure) but there are many signs of optimism.
I spoke the Andrew Geoghegan at ausbiz this morning about the “FOMO Rally” that is occurring at the smaller end of the market with indications such as music business Vinyl Group (ASX:VNL) and DroneShield (ASX:DRO) which have both risen more than 100% this year.
